In most categories a scuffed box costs you a customer-service reply. In warehouse and card fulfilment it moves an item down a grade, and the grade is most of the price.
Condition is the value
A near-mint card and a lightly-played one are the same SKU and a different price. Handling that does not preserve the distinction has destroyed value before the parcel left.
Sealed means sealed
Sealed product is worth what it is worth because nobody opened it. Check-in verifies quantity and outer condition without breaking a seal, and anything already opened is separated rather than counted in.
Demand arrives on a date
Releases and restocks are events. A set drops on a Friday and the week's volume arrives in four hours, which is a capacity problem before it is a picking problem.
The buyer will photograph the parcel
Collector buyers document what arrives, publicly. Packing that is adequate for a book is a review problem for a €400 slab.

A grading dispute is not always resolvable, and we would rather say so.
Condition assessment by a trained warehouse operator against your written standard separates obvious grades reliably. It will not settle an argument about whether a corner was soft before it shipped or became soft in a letterbox.
Weight and scan records help narrow a condition dispute. If retrievable pack-bench photography is required as evidence, that is a separate workflow requirement and is confirmed before onboarding.

What collector fulfilment means
Collector fulfilment is order fulfilment where the condition of the item, not just its identity, has to be preserved and evidenced at every step. It is a distinct discipline from general e-commerce fulfilment for three reasons.
Condition record
Stock is assessed on arrival and the condition is held against the unit, so what ships matches what was listed.
Item-specific pack
Singles, sealed boxes, graded slabs and figures each use a defined packing recipe: sleeve, top-loader or rigid holder, then a rigid mailer or right-sized outer as appropriate.
Re-grade on return
A returned collectible re-enters stock at whatever condition it comes back in, which may not be the condition it left in.

Questions before you move stock
Order fulfilment where the condition of the item, not just its identity, is preserved and evidenced at every step. Condition is recorded at intake and held against the unit, packing is specified per item type, and returns are re-graded rather than restocked at their original grade.

No. We apply the grading standard you write, consistently, and record the result. Certified grading and authentication are submissions to a grading company, not warehouse work, and any 3PL offering both deserves a follow-up question.
Quantity and outer condition are verified without breaking a seal. Anything arriving already opened or damaged is separated and recorded rather than counted into sellable stock.
It is reassessed on intake against your standard. If the condition has changed it re-enters stock at the new grade, with the change recorded, or it is held per your playbook. It does not go back at the grade it left at by default.
