OUR GOAL
To provide an A-to-Z e-commerce logistics solution that would complete Amazon fulfillment network in the European Union.
Amazon MEL5, located in the Horizon 3023 estate in Ravenhall, is a critical infrastructure node for Amazon Australia’s Victorian operations. Spanning 37,000 square meters—nearly double the size of the Melbourne Cricket Ground—this facility is specifically optimized for larger consumer items, including household essentials, electronics, and flat-pack furniture.
Amazon MEL5 at a Glance
For a smooth and compliant inbound process at Amazon MEL5, please review these specific operational details to ensure your freight aligns with the Victorian market's requirements.
FC Code: MEL5
Full Address: 103 Palm Springs Rd, Ravenhall, VIC 3023, Australia
Booking System: All deliveries require a confirmed appointment through Carrier Central.
GLN Code: Not publicly disclosed.
Pallet Exchange: No pallet exchange available.
Deep Sea Imports: Freight arriving via the Port of Melbourne must be deconsolidated and palletized to Australian standards before delivery to the Ravenhall gate.
Notice Period: Appointments must be requested at least 24 hours in advance.
Strategic Location
The strategic value of MEL5 lies in its western Melbourne location, providing immediate access to the Caroline Springs transport corridor and the proposed Western Intermodal Freight Terminal. This positioning allows for rapid last-mile delivery across Victoria. For European exporters, MEL5 is a high-velocity destination for bulkier inventory that doesn't fit the robotics model. However, because the facility handles a high volume of "larger items," the structural integrity of your pallets is paramount. Success depends on the quality of your European outbound prep—ensuring that every load is stable and correctly labeled before it crosses the ocean.
Operational Specifications for MEL5
To maintain operational flow and avoid safety-related refusals at the MEL5 dock, your freight must strictly align with the following localized protocols. Compliance is the only way to ensure your inventory moves from the receiving bay to the warehouse floor without administrative friction.

Navigating the European side of your global supply chain
While your focus may currently be on the Victorian market, maintaining a high-performance presence in Europe requires a different set of logistical tools. Because FLEX. operates exclusively within the European landscape, we act as a vital bridge for brands balancing both Australian and EU operations. To ensure your European infrastructure is as robust as your Melbourne-bound strategy, keep these cross-continental checkpoints in mind:
Height and Rack Compatibility Audit: Unlike many European sites that allow for taller stacks, MEL5’s strict 1.6-meter limit is a frequent point of failure. Utilizing our warehouse services in Europe allows you to re-configure and audit your pallets to meet these specific Victorian racking standards before they ever leave the continent.
Heavy-Duty Transit Stabilization: Because MEL5 is optimized for larger, heavier consumer goods, the risk of "seller damage" during long-haul sea transit is significantly higher. We specialize in the high-tension wrapping and industrial bracing needed at the European origin to ensure your heavy inventory arrives in Ravenhall as a stable, dock-ready load.
Unified Labeling Compliance: Automated receiving in both Melbourne and Europe relies on perfect barcode placement. By verifying your FBA labels and SKU markings within our European hubs, you eliminate the risk of administrative "black holes" that can occur when inventory moves between vastly different regulatory zones.
Strategic Inventory Forwarding: Scaling globally means having the right stock in the right place. By integrating our forwarding to Amazon in Europe solutions, you can seamlessly manage your EU replenishment while we prepare your bulk exports for Oceania.
You can also utilize our Amazon Fulfillment Centers directory to monitor the shifting requirements between the MEL5 facility and your key European hubs.

How FLEX. can help
FLEX. serves as a professional European checkpoint for brands targeting the Australian market. Utilizing our advanced operational network in Poland, Germany and France, we prepare your inventory to meet MEL5's rigorous requirements before it begins the long transit to the Southern Hemisphere.
FLEX. maintains its operational footprint exclusively within Europe; we do not provide local logistics inside Australia. Instead, we act as your primary compliance gateway on European soil. If your expansion strategy requires a professional partner for B2C order fulfillment or secure staging before your inventory begins the transit to Oceania, our facilities are perfectly positioned to assist. We specialize in verifying that every pallet and carton is configured to Australian safety and height specifications before it departs from Europe, effectively shielding your business from the logistical nightmare of a "Return to Sender" at the Melbourne dock.
