Same-Day Delivery in Europe: What the FedEx-OneRail Move Means for B2C Fulfillment
31 March 2026
OUR GOAL
To provide an A-to-Z e-commerce logistics solution that would complete Amazon fulfillment network in the European Union.
Amazon DXB5 is a state-of-the-art Sort and Non-Sort fulfillment center situated in Dubai South, forming the backbone of the e-commerce logistics network in the United Arab Emirates. Positioned near the Al Maktoum International Airport and the Jebel Ali Port, this facility acts as the ultimate gateway for fast-moving consumer goods entering the dynamic Middle Eastern market. For European sellers exporting to Dubai, the transition into the UAE requires meticulous coordination with Dubai Customs and Amazon's regional inbound protocols. Ensuring your inventory is thoroughly prepared and compliant before leaving your European origin is essential to avoid premium storage penalties or rejection upon arrival in the Emirates.
Amazon DXB5 at a Glance
Achieving a smooth delivery into the Dubai South facility demands strict compliance with regional operational standards.
FC Code: DXB5
Full Address: Combined Plot Nos. EZ-23, EZ-24 and EZ-25 EZDubai, Logistics District, Dubai South Dubai, AE, United Arab Emirates
GLN Code: Not publicly disclosed.
Pallet Exchange: No pallet exchange available.
Slip Sheet Unloading: Must be explicitly verified and authorized during the appointment request phase.
Deep Sea Imports: DXB5 does not process raw ocean freight directly; all deep sea imports must be fully deconsolidated, palletized, and cleared through UAE customs at the port before undertaking the final-mile transit to the facility gates.
Notice Period: Appointments must be requested at least 24 hours in advance.
Strategic Location
The strategic brilliance of DXB5 lies in its placement within the Dubai South logistics corridor. This free zone environment provides unparalleled connectivity between the Jebel Ali Sea Port and the Al Maktoum International Airport, facilitating rapid deconsolidation of both ocean and air freight. For European sellers, this multimodal connectivity dramatically reduces inland transit times once the cargo clears customs. The location allows Amazon to rapidly deploy inventory across the entire UAE and acts as a high-speed springboard for the wider Gulf Cooperation Council consumer base.

Ensuring Export Readiness for DXB5 Inbound
Achieving a successful delivery to the Dubai South Logistics District begins with meticulous preparation at the point of origin. For sellers managing inventory within European hubs, the transition to the United Arab Emirates marketplace requires meeting specific operational standards before the cargo is even dispatched. Mastering the fundamental Amazon FBA prep requirements is the first essential step in this process, ensuring that every unit is correctly handled and labeled before it begins its international journey.
To safeguard your supply chain and prevent operational bottlenecks at the UAE Port of Entry, we recommend prioritizingi these critical pre-shipment checkpoints:
Source-Side Compliance Verification: The most common delays at DXB5 are caused by documentation discrepancies. Verifying that your physical pallet configurations and commercial invoices perfectly match your UAE TRN and customs declarations while the goods are still in Europe prevents the extreme costs of demurrage or re-exporting once the cargo reaches Dubai.
Adherence to UAE Physical Standards: The Emirates market enforces strict safety and dimensional limits, such as the 63.5 cm box maximum and mandatory "Heavy Package" markings for cartons over 15 kg. Ensuring these standards are met during the initial packing phase in our European facilities is the only way to guarantee immediate acceptance at the DXB5 dock.
Strategic Staging in Europe: Many international sellers use European facilities as a controlled staging area. By organizing your bulk inventory in a European warehouse, you can prepare and dispatch fully compliant, verified batches to DXB5 as needed, rather than risking large, unverified shipments that could be held at the UAE border.
Global Fulfillment Mapping: Successfully scaling from Europe to the Middle East requires a clear view of the entire network. You can use our Amazon Fulfillment Centers directory to understand the specific requirements of different global facilities and plan your international routing more effectively.
