Operational Specifications for BOM1
Mastering the operational requirements of the BOM1 facility in Bhiwandi, a critical logistics corridor for the Mumbai metropolitan region, demands strict adherence to India’s unique freight protocols.
Booking and Hours
- Appointments: Required via Carrier Central; only registered/professional carriers (or Amazon-arranged services) can create or manage dock appointments for India FCs.
- Operating Window: Multi-shift operation over seven days; exact dock receiving hours are not publicly specified and follow the slot confirmed in your Carrier Central appointment (may vary by day, load type and season).
- Receiving Hours
Mode: By appointment only (India Standard Time, local time), aligned to your confirmed Carrier Central slot.
Vehicle Requirements
Carrier Profile: Active carrier profile and confirmed Carrier Central appointment are mandatory.
Dock Access: Dock-high, rear unloading at a standard bay (no side unloading or ground-level hand-unload at the dock).
Typical Inbound Equipment:
32–40 ft enclosed rigid trucks and trailers commonly used on the Mumbai–Nashik / Kalyan–Bhiwandi corridor, loaded to permit pallet-truck or forklift access and safe unloading.
Driver Documentation & Conduct:
Driver must present BOL/manifest and any required Delivery Challan / Stock Transfer Notetogether with the appointment reference.
Driver must follow all on-site safety, PPE and yard-movement rules communicated at the gate or by yard staff.
Cargo Preparation
- Pallets:
Standard four-way access wooden pallets of approx. 1200 mm × 1000 mm, in line with Amazon India LTL / truckload delivery guidance.
Typical India FBA working limits: around 1.6–1.66 m total pallet height and up to ~1,000 kg gross weight per pallet, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
Pallets must be structurally sound (no broken boards, protruding nails or unsafe repairs), with cartons kept fully within the pallet footprint to avoid damage and potential refusals.
Pallets are non-exchange; plan your packaging and carrier pricing on the basis that pallets remain at MAA5.
- Slip Sheets:
Only to be used where explicitly permitted in current Amazon India FBA guidance and pre-agreed in the Carrier Central appointment notes; otherwise, plan deliveries on standard wooden pallets
Box & Pallet Labels:
Each carton requires a unique FBA Box ID label generated in Seller Central India (amazon.in marketplace) for the shipment; remove or fully cover any other scannable barcodes on the outer carton.
Each pallet requires four FBA pallet labels (one per side), applied outside the stretch wrap, scannable at ground level and clearly showing the Ship-to FC code MAA5.
Wrapping & Stability:
Clear stretch wrap securing every layer; no overhang beyond the pallet footprint.
Use corner boards, straps or extra wrap for tall, heavy or mixed-SKU pallets to prevent shifting or collapse during transit and unloading.
Clearly mark heavy cartons according to India inbound acceptance rules (commonly using a threshold around 22.5 kg) so that “heavy” warnings are visible from multiple sides and on the top layer where required.
Bridging the Gap: Your European Staging Hub for BOM1
While your expansion focus is on the bustling Bhiwandi logistics hub, maintaining a high-performance presence in Europe requires a specialized logistical bridge. Because FLEX. operates exclusively within the European landscape, we serve as the vital staging ground for brands balancing both EU and Indian operations. To ensure your European infrastructure is as robust as your BOM1-bound strategy, keep these cross-continental checkpoints in mind:
Regional Compliance & Pallet Audit: The BOM1 facility has specific intake protocols that may differ from standard Euro-pallet configurations. Utilizing our warehouse services in Europe allows you to re-configure and audit your pallets to meet these Indian racking standards—including rigorous height and density verification—before they ever leave the continent.
Transcontinental Transit Stabilization: The long-haul sea route to the Port of Nhava Sheva (serving Bhiwandi) involves significant environmental shifts. We specialize in high-tension industrial wrapping and internal container bracing at the European origin, ensuring your inventory arrives at the BOM1 docks as a stable, dock-ready load despite the rigors of oceanic transit.
Unified Labeling Accuracy: Automated receiving in India relies on absolute barcode precision. By verifying your FBA labels and SKU markings within our European hubs, you eliminate the risk of administrative "black holes" or customs delays that often occur when inventory enters the complex Indian regulatory landscape.
Strategic Inventory Forwarding: Scaling globally means having the right stock in the right place. By integrating our forwarding to FBA solutions, you can seamlessly manage your European replenishment while you prepare and stage your bulk exports for the Mumbai region.
You can also utilize our Amazon Fulfillment Centers directory to monitor the shifting operational requirements between the BOM1 facility and your key European hubs.
How FLEX. Can Help

FLEX. maintains its operational footprint exclusively within Europe; we do not provide local logistics inside India. Instead, we act as your primary compliance gateway on European soil. If your expansion strategy requires a professional partner for B2C order fulfillment in Europe or secure staging before your inventory begins the transit to Bhiwandi, our facilities are perfectly positioned to assist.
